Thriller opening sequence

Trainspotting intro The opening sequence introduces the protagonist with a still image of them and their names. The first scene is set in the daytime and the characters are wearing normal casual clothing. they are seen to be running from two men, who are wearing suits, which would connote that they are from an upper-class background. This would give the audience the idea that they have done something illegal. Questions Why were they running? Why did the protagonist fall backward? What did they steal? Where are they running to? The reason for an opening sequence is to set out the narrative of the story. A theme is a key idea or issue highlighted/explored when watching a media text They are explored faced by the character's issues or actions. In a horror, the themes are fear, violence, death and escape In a romance, we see romance, sexuality and sex The common themes of a thriller are: fear control  romance violence religion politics revenge death Power Gone Girl The themes in the trailer are investigation. This is due to how the storyline follows a woman who mysteriously disappeared and there is an investigation of what has happened to her and where she is. There is also a theme of dishonesty in which the disappearance of Amy has caught the attention of the media and it leads to the accusation of other people, with her husband, Nick, as the prime suspect. The narrative is the way stories are told. It is a way to organize the structure of the story, such as the cause, effect, action, and inaction. Flashback/flashforward- when the story skips into the past or future Red herrings- a wrong lead or distraction in the story Dramatic Irony- the audience knows more than the characters  Foreshadowing- hinting that something will happen in a situation.
